Prof. Richard Barker is a visionary leader and expert in therapeutics, diagnostics, and medical informatics, specializing in precision health. As a futurist, his work anticipates and shapes the future of healthcare, with a focus on AI-driven medical decision-making and healthy longevity. His distinguished career, including leadership roles at the Association of the British Pharmaceutical Industry, IBM, and McKinsey, has consistently advanced global health systems.
Prof. Barker is also a visiting professor in Precision Population Health at King’s College London. He is committed to not-for-profit initiatives, particularly in the responsible development of AI and addressing the mental health crisis among refugees. As a co-founder and board member of 2BWell, he supports mental health initiatives for Ukrainians. Outside of his professional life, he is an avid mountain hiker and world traveler, drawing inspiration from the diverse cultures and landscapes he explores.
